Missing Animals
If you have found a stray dog
If you have found a dog, you may bring it to us to be scanned for a microchip during our normal opening hours.
If the dog is not microchipped or if we are unable to contact the owner, we will contact the local Council Dog Warden during Council office hours to collect it and take it to the local kennels. Depending on room left in kennels, we may not be able to hold the animal at our premises until collection by the dog warden. If we are unable to take in the dog we can put you in touch with the kennels and you will be able to take the dog there yourself.
Unfortunately, the practice is unable to take in missing dogs overnight or during the weekend as we have limited space for patients and are not licensed to board animals.
If you have lost a dog
During Council office hours phone the Dog Warden on 01594 810000. Phone around the Vets, the Police (101) and the local kennels (01594 832536) and check the Facebook page (Forest of Dean Lost and Found).
If you have found a stray cat
You may bring it to us to scan for a microchip, however if it is not chipped or if an owner cannot be found we are unable to take it in as we have limited space for patients and are not licensed to board animals. Please phone Cats Protection for advice (01594 841511).
